Student Development Activities

The students of SMKFIT are encouraged to participate in workshops and present papers in seminars, symposiums and conferences. Participation and practice helps the students to gain expertise in their presentation and interactive skills. About 75% of the students from our college participated in seminars, symposiums and conferences last academic year.

Our students are also exposed to several guest lectures by eminent personalities from industries and academia across various technical areas.

Industrial visits are arranged for students of all academic years, at least twice a semester.

Training on self-awareness, self-monitoring, attitude and moral value programmes were organized for the students periodically. Communication skill classes are taken for all students and non-teaching staffs by a team of senior and motivated faculty members of the department of English.

Students are provided aptitude training that includes speed mathematics, puzzles, tips and time-management lessons at regular intervals.

Students are also trained to conduct seminars and paper presentations on technical topics to hone their interpersonal skills and to improve communication abilities.

NEN - Our students are part of the world wide National Entrepreneurship Network which moulds our students to become entrepreneurs. A few have already become entrepreneurs during their study period itself.
